Jessica first heard a calling for Yoga in 2013. When she answered the call, she immediately felt the essence of Yoga running through her veins after taking her first Ashtanga led class. This created connections within her inner being that sent her diving even deeper into the Philosophy of Yoga. Three months later she was enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training. Thus began the start of a journey into the path of Yoga.
She is now a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher with 200 HRS in Hatha Yoga (2013) and 200HRS in Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series (2015) and she just finished her 300HRS in more studies of Hatha, Ashtanga Intermediate Series, Kundalini, Pranayama, Meditation, Mantra and Ayurveda (2022). Although she has only been practicing physical asana for ten years, she feels she has always been practicing Karma and Bhakti Yoga her whole life.
She has had the privilege of practicing under some well known Ashtangis such as Saraswati Jois, Sharath Jois, Laruga Glaser, David Keil, Tim Feldman, and Greg Nardi.
Jessica’s teaching style focuses on integrating the mind, body and spirit. She encourages her students to be on their mats at least 5 days a week. She believes that consistency shows devotion to the self and through this devotion one can become self mastered. Her mission is to share the knowledge she has gathered on her journey in order to help guide others towards healing and self-discovery.
When Jessica hears this same concern, “I’m not flexible,” she tells her students, “If you can breathe, you can do Yoga.” One of her teachers said this once and it has stuck with her. She will always encourage her students to accept where they are in their practice, whether they are beginners or ten year veterans.
